Whats's the ideal customer profile for DiversityZoom?
The following criteria should be true for any introduction:
- Company has the budget to pay for the services of an external recruiting agency
- Company contact is the CEO/Founder or member that has the authority to engage an external recruiting agency
The following criteria typically lead to more productive introductions and subsequence partnerships:
- CEO who need guidance and help hiring since this function requires expertise and time.
- CEO or company leader who doesn’t have the bandwidth to dedicate sufficient time to the hiring process
- Insufficient number of recruiters or recruiters with insufficient experience to support the hiring needs.
The following criteria don’t actually matter that much:
- Company Size & Stage
- Early stage / smaller companies often lack recruiting resources so they look for external recruitersÂ
- Later stage / larger companies may be staffing a new product area or product skill set (e.g. growth, 0=>1) and lack recruiting bandwidth or expertise so they look for external recruiters

How are the referral fees taxed?
For specific tax advice, we highly recommend consulting with your own tax advisor. However, here’s a general overview of how referral fees are typically taxed:
Since the referral fees you receive from DiversityZoom exceed $600 in a calendar year, we will ask you to complete and submit a Form W-9. This form is used to provide your tax identification number and other necessary information.
After the end of the year, DiversityZoom will issue a Form 1099-NEC to you. This form reports the total amount of non-employee compensation you received from DiversityZoom during the year. It’s important to note that the income reported on this form is taxable, and you should include it when filing your annual tax return.
Remember, the responsibility for reporting and paying appropriate taxes on this income rests with you, the recipient of the referral fees.
